Debra Casey was born in Hollywood, Ca moved to Maui in 1996 then over to Oahu in 2013. This vegan, tattooed, body piercer learned to surf at 33 (she still shortboards!) then picked up a
camera at 45. She is self-taught and her life experience shows in her work. While technical perfection is nice it’s not the priority, evoking an emotional response ***.The items, scenes andnarratives are organic not staged. Most are happy discoveries, some have been treasure hunts and many have an untold story.
